Our story begins in the mountains of Thailand.  This is where Rachel and Maarten first met.  Both worldly travelers in their own right, Rachel grew up in New England and Maarten in Belgium.

With a passion to see different landscapes, be immersed in different cultures, gain knowledge and create, these two voyagers became integrally connected.

After learning silversmithing in Rajasthan, India, from a teacher who's family has been making jewelry for over 700 years, Maluhia Jewels was formed.

​

Maluhia is the Hawaiian word for peace.  It is an ode to Rachel's mother, and a way of life.
